Hallo!
So it's been some months since my last post, but to be fair, I have done my first semester of university, moved house, and changed jobs in the meantime. Phew.
And in some super cool news, I just popped over to Curbside Style on a whim (a little break from some serious study!) to discover I'd won her super awesome giveaway! Seriously excited to receive my blanket, bag and tea-cup candle in the mail!!!
Whee!
This year has gone way too fast, but in a good way, I think, because it means I finish uni soon (hoorah!) and Christmas is almost here, and Christmas is my favourite time of the year. I love spending time with my big family down in my hometown. I think I have the best family, I can honestly say I love all my aunts and uncles and grandparents and cousins to bits and pieces!
Bye for now, I have an all-nighter to pull!

Gnocchigate
Yesterday was disaster gnocchi day. Gnocchigate. Though it was less of a scandal and more of an "i didn't read up on the correct cooking technique" disaster. So I did end up serving my two dinner guests grey gluey gnocchi. Oh help.

Today all I wanted to do was hide in bed all day. I couldn't bring myself to get up, just like every other day this week. But then I remembered the pretty red rose hanging over the fence from the neighbour's pretty front garden. And I wanted to put that rose in a vase. That was all the reason I needed to get out of bed, shower, and put on a (semi) happy face. Even Ned (I haven't told you about Ned yet have I?) couldn't pull me out of bed this morning. Now I'm baking cookies. Chocolate chip and I'm feeling a bit less blue. This is what I'm listening to..
The sharehouse I am renting is being sold pretty soon, leaving us tenants with not many options (find a new place soon or risk getting kicked to the curb). Today is home open day #2. These things ARE SUPER AWKWARD! Super bummed about possibly losing this house, I WANT TO SETTLE DOWN PLEASE!
PS. This is Ned, my newly adopted kitten, and he is a brat. But I love him. He is named for Ned the Piemaker, Ned the Piemaker from the tv show Pushing Daisies. I finished the second (and last) season yesterday, and I got the same feeling I got when I finished reading Harry Potter. Emptiness. :(

Willy Verginer

During my morning perusal of The Jealous Curator I found these WOODEN! sculptures, and have decided to take up wood carving. Maybe somewhere, deep down, I have carver's blood. Wouldn't it be super awesome to discover a talent like that?

Drawing Food

So although I am sure I am the only person reading my little project blog here, I have decided to set myself a task of drawing one drawing a day. I see blogger as a little person in itself, so hello blogger, you can keep me on track! P.s. I am watching Masterchef and I like the blonde boy. He says he draws the recipes. That is rad.
P.p.s. Sorry I can't credit the taco artist, I downloaded this a long time ago!
My Two New Children.

Today I bought two very cool Kodak Instamatic cameras for a total of $10 from my local op-shop. My digital camera isn't working to give you a photo of mine, but they look like these.
Just one small problem now. These cameras take 126 film, which was discontinued (like all good things) a few years back. Without even knowing if my two finds are in a workable condition, I might have to fork out a bit on obtaining film for them! All things worthwhile should take some effort though, so I look forward to posting photos from these babies!

Get your folk on.
I have some talented housemates. They have this band that play the good kind of foot tapping music that your grandparents probably listened to. And they're good at it. Here is a clip of them playing on our front porch! They are talented huh. For this reason only I will forgive the banjo practice at 11pm at night. I think I once said I could never get sick of the banjo. NEVER say these words, kids, until you've lain awake wondering if the same banjo riff would ever end so you could get some shuteye. It will drive you to some form of madness. BELIEVE ME.
